Blog update / WordPress rocks
Hi Folks,
It’s been a while since my last post, but not without a reason. First of all I’m damned busy at work, working too much trying to deliver the undeliverable. Since I’m having vacations since mid-September (ending tomorrow…) I had some rest traveling across Poland and Ukraine (ah, Lviv is beautiful).
Also I had some more time to work on my website, so I was trying to incorporate comments to my MovableType engine. It wasn’t working quite good – literally MT pissed me off, as configuring it on my box and restyling to meet my needs was a nightmare. As I had MT 3.2 installed, I’d updated it the 4.01 to find it even worse than the previous version – e.g. not working in Safari and Camino, big problems editing posts and lacking some features available previously. Maybe it’s been due to the migration process, but there’s no way to check it right now, as ‘rm -rf mt/’ have “uninstalled” it completely ;-)
Hail to the … WordPress
Before MT has been sentenced to death I did a search for an alternative weblog service and decided to stick with WordPress. It works like a charm! I’ve moved all posts, categories there, set up redirects, so all previous links works fine (even RSS!).
The one thing still missing is unification of blog/website styles, but I’m working on that. Because of the blog migration my home page is now purely a portfolio page, and it’s going to remain as my portfolio.
Good! Now you’ll be able to hear from me more frequently, and comment my posts. Long life, WordPress!
